Chopin au Jardin
Chopin’s music once again connected Paris and Warsaw!
On the Sundays of June and July under the patronage of the Mayor of the capital city of Warsaw the 6th edition of the Chopin au Jardin du Luxembourg Festival was inaugurated, with which Warsaw began its summer cultural presentation in Paris. For five Sundays in the capital of France, in the garden surrounding the Senate of the Republic of France resonded with Frederic Chopin’s compositions performed by outstanding artists. It is usually Warsaw that follows Paris. In case of Jarding du Luxembourt concerts the inspiration were summer piano recitals which have been held for 55 years in the Royal Lazienki Park in Warsaw (this year will mark the 56th edition). The concept to move the concerts with the repertoire of the great Polish composer was received in Paris with huge interest.
The previous years were an occasion to propose such a cycle of outdoor concerts, which already at the very beginning in 2010, the Chopin Year, proved to be a great success. Altogether in the musical meetings with Chopin thousands of Parisians and tourists took part. We believe that similarly this year, too music lovers will spontaneously arrive at the Jardin… with their own chairs!
